Gilad Shalit: The Fish and the Artist
Today, Hamas eleased a video of captured Israel soldier of peace, Gilad Shalit. In exchange for this video, for this meager proof of life of a hero who is being treated in ways we do not wish to even imagine, Israel has released 200 terrorists. Gilad was an innocent taken hostage. The released prisoners were criminals and terrorists. I leave it to you, dear reader, to determine the fairness of this exchange.
Unlike other organizations and groups, Artists 4 Israel does not wish to glorify this video and, so, will not post it here. While it breaks out heart to see Gilad and to feel a sense of hope that he might be home soon, we do not wish to see him in the hands of those that destroy hope and promote hate.
Instead, we would rather play the above video, a story written by Gilad Shalit when he was 11 and did not know the terror he faces today.
The story features illustrations by Israeli children.
