Wyclef Proves Our Theory
Since the days of the Gladiators, politicians have been manipulating celebrity (be it sports stars or singers) for the sake of their popularity. This is the clearest example of the pop culture and artistic influences on politics. Wyclef's potential run for Haitian President is the first time that influence is being writ large. Yes, Reagan and Ah-nold have done it, but that was after their careers and a calculated political existence. Wyclef is the first to jump right from stage to podium. Whether or not he will be successful or, even, allowed to run, is unimportant. The fact that he is trying is all that matters. A4I gets it.
