The Paradise Project

Let me Present....Annie Albagli

In an ongoing collaborative project through Artists 4 Israel Annie worked with families who suffered a traumatic event (most recently families evicted from their homes in Gaza and living in trailers), by painting any image they request in their home. In exchange, each family is asked to describe their personal paradise. The images they request to be painted are not ethereal, they are practical. As a result, the act of painting for them and taking particular care of a space in their home while asking them to meditate on their own paradise turns that space into a moment of personal escape and realized beauty.
